Privileged to be an estate agent in Holmfirth, we’re graced with some of the most breath-taking scenery in the country. Within the landscape are some fantastic, quirky, and soulful businesses which we are desperate to support.
This month, we met up with Jodi, the owner of The Little People Store in Holmfirth. Stocking a range of beautiful products for mums and babies, from toys to clothing, as well as hot drinks and cakes for mums on the go.
We are lucky to have such a lovely shop in our town.
Sum up your business in 100 words
The Little People Store was created to be your go-to store for all your gifting needs. We have our online store for sending orders across the UK and our Flagship store in Holmfirth which as well as the shop, has a play area and coffee bar. We stock a range of toys, gifts, clothing for newborn up to age 11 and gorgeous gifts for HER, mums to be, new mums including jewellery and candles.
We have a range of well known brands such as Little Dutch, Grass & Air, Big Stuffed, OYOY but we also pride ourselves on stocking local independent brands which makes the shop unique.
Tell us about your team
We are a family run business, Jodi & Richard are the co-founders and started the business online in August 2022. We have a son, Harley who turns 4 in January and has us wrapped around his little finger!
What makes your business special
A sense of community and support, the local brands we stock make the store what it is and we are so honoured to be able to support them.
What is your biggest business achievement to date
Opening our first Flagship store for sure! Since opening the store the reception in Holmfirth has been amazing and we love that we have created a welcoming calm space for parent and children to hang out as well as shop.
How long has your business been trading
We initially started our online store in August 2022 and then opened the store in April 2023, so only 16 months - still very new!
What is your favourite thing about living in the country
Oh, tricky one... it's definitely not the weather! The views, the walks, the fact we are not ever too far from anything and can explore.
When you are not at work, which is the one place you love to visit
We love to head to Manchester for days out and tying new restaurants and things to do.
